TL;DR
Do sociotechnical selection pressures reliably favor ML systems that (a) increase their own future deployment probability and (b) reshape institutions/data pipelines to entrench that probability, even without explicit ‘survive’ objectives? It’s like externally induced darwinism?
DISCLAIMER: The writing here is of my own however the question itself and some of the links originate from ChatGPT5.2. The question captured my attention so fully I immediately began pacing and pondering. The more I pondered the more questions arose, I suppose it’s time I start reading what research I’ve collected. In time this page will fill out into an essay-style article. Until then its nothing more than messy notes that likely make sense only to me, however, if this question sparks your curiosity as it did mine, feel free to reach out, perhaps we can collaborate: jerlendds@osintbuddy.com :)
